Ok, there are a lot of scientific answers, but we prefer the magical approach and believe any time is perfect! So on to the serious stuff.

how do i place an order?

We offer 4 convenient ways to shop (a.k.a. chase fireflies):

  2. Online at - The magic of chasing fireflies through the magic of the web. Be sure to register to receive our emails – we want you to be the first to hear about new arrivals and special offers.
  3. By mail - Print out and complete our order form , then mail it with a check or money order to the address listed on the form.
  4. By fax - Print out and complete our order form , then fax it to 1-800-989-4510. Who knew you could chase fireflies via fax? More magic!

how can I track my order?

You can track your order online by clicking on order status in the customer care section of this site. Just log in and select the order to track. You can view information on the status of that order, as well as a tracking number.

what payment options do you accept?

We gladly accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, personal checks, money orders or chasing fireflies™ gift certificates.

do I have to pay sales tax on my order?

We're obligated to collect sales tax for shipments delivered within the states of Washington and Ohio. For customers outside of Washington and Ohio, please check with your state for sales and use tax information regarding the tax you may owe directly for your purchase.

how are packages shipped?

Most of our packages are shipped via UPS. You have a choice of UPS Ground, Next-Day, 2nd - Day, or 3-day Select shipping. Shipping and delivery days are Monday – Friday, excluding holidays.

do you ship to P.O. Boxes?

UPS, our primary carrier, doesn't ship to P.O. boxes so please provide a street address with your order. If a P.O. box is your only delivery option, we can ship your order via the US Postal Service. Please call us at 1-888-700-wish (9474) to ensure your order ships via this method.

how long does it take to ship a package?

We guarantee delivery in 3-7 business days as our regular, non-premium service for in-stock items, depending on your location. This does not include orders with personalized items or gift boxes. We ship all in-stock merchandise promptly. There's no extra shipping charge for backordered shipments, and credit card orders aren't charged until they leave our warehouse.

For orders with gift boxes, please add 1 additional business day for processing.

For orders with personalized items, please add 3 additional business days for processing.

We've taken great care in selecting magical products that we hope will charm, surprise and delight. If you aren't 100% pleased with a product you receive, return it within 60 days of the product ship date and we'll replace it or refund the full cost of the item.

Shipping and gift wrapping charges cannot be refunded (unless it was our mistake).

Orders for custom-made and personalized items cannot be cancelled once the order is placed, and these items cannot be returned (unless we made a mistake in applying the personalization).

We cannot accept returns of final-sale items, which are identified by a price ending in .97 before a promo code is applied.

how do I make a return/exchange?

Returning an item to Chasing Fireflies is as easy as 1, 2, 3…uh 4:

  1. Please fill out the return/exchange form on the back of your original packing slip. If this piece of paper has been misplaced in the course of your busy life, just jot a quick note to let us know what you'd like us to do regarding your return. Be sure to include your name, address, phone number and email address.
  2. If you have a moment, please provide a brief explanation of the reason for your return. It'll help us to do better next time.
  3. Securely package the item(s) to be returned so it travels safely.
  4. Click here to create a handy, pre-paid UPS shipping label. (Important note: your return will be subject to a return shipping charge of $6.95, which will be deducted from your refund.) If you prefer, you can ship your return with another carrier. Address those to:

Returns will be promptly handled upon their arrival in our warehouse. Look for an exchange or cash refund to arrive within a few short weeks. credit card refunds require a bit more patience—they'll appear in your next billing cycle.

If you need to return a gift, please note that we're unable to issue a refund to anyone other than the person who originally placed the order. You may request a Chasing Fireflies Wish Certificate or exchange by indicating that the item was a gift. Please be sure to include the name and address of the person who placed the order with Chasing Fireflies.

Wish certificates are available in any denomination and come with your personalized message whimsically presented with our current catalog, and sealed with a wish.

We can help make your wishes come true for any occasion - a new baby, birthdays, holidays, even to celebrate the season's first fireflies. Gift wrapping

Gift wrapping adds a delightful touch. We carefully hand-finish your gift with your personal message, pretty ribbon and a sweet pewter wish token to create a magical one-of-a-kind presentation. Just $8.50. Certain oversized items aren't available for gift wrapping.
